Biochain

Interreg Greece–Italy 2021–2027 • Co-funded by the European Union

Cross-border cooperation

Project Partners

BIOCHAIN brings together regional authorities, universities, agricultural innovation organisations and a national park from Greece and Italy.

The consortium

Complementary expertise across the Programme Area.

The partnership combines policy capacity, scientific infrastructure, digital development, field experimentation and biodiversity management.

Working together

A partnership designed around the full bioresources chain.

No single organisation covers every step from conservation and laboratory analysis to field use, communication and policy transfer.

The partners therefore work through shared methodologies, joint datasets, cross-border study visits, coordinated pilot actions and common communication. Results from one activity become input for the next.

Knowledge and resources

Regional inventories, plant material, laboratories, data, protected areas and expertise.

Joint research and testing

Co-designed protocols, analyses, field studies and application pilots.

Transfer and sustainability

Training, stakeholder networks, digital access, strategies and long-term cooperation.

Shared contribution

What the partnership delivers together.

The consortium is structured so that scientific evidence can be translated into tools, applications and strategies.

01

Collect

Data, plant knowledge, samples, field observations and stakeholder needs.

02

Analyse

Phytochemicals, environmental conditions, biological activity and digital datasets.

03

Apply

Pilot natural solutions in agriculture, apiculture and aquaculture.

04

Transfer

Publish, train, communicate and integrate results into common strategies.
